Images recently acquired seem to show what appear to be clouds on Pluto, the dog planet.
If supported, the findings could be extremely important, indicating there’s a lot of atmospheric action occurring on the dwarf planet.
The images from New Horizons, which never have been publicly released yet, seem to reveal clumps in the haze of Pluto which may be individual clouds.
Right now, we have no idea what they could be made of, or what could be inducing the clouds. Nevertheless, additional details may be revealed by an approaching paper in the research workers in the journal Science.
The correspondence to date don’t discuss exactly what the clouds may be made of,” said New Scientist.
Until then, we’ll have to gawp in the most recent awe-inspiring little bit of science to come from this planet that is incredible.
